India strongly rebukes the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for its “unwarranted and factually incorrect” remarks
India’s Stern Rebuttal: “No Locus Standi on Kashmir”
Baseless Allegations – In a sharply worded statement, India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) categorically rejected the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) recent comments on Jammu and Kashmir. The remarks, made during the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Türkiye, were labelled by India as “unwarranted and factually incorrect,” and a direct result of Pakistan’s influence over the bloc.

The OIC had criticized India on several fronts, including the alleged “social marginalisation” of Indian Muslims and the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. India responded by asserting that Jammu and Kashmir is an “integral and sovereign part of India,” a status enshrined in the Indian Constitution and “irreversibly settled.”
The MEA emphasized that the OIC has “no locus standi” to comment on India’s internal affairs and accused the bloc of allowing its agenda to be hijacked by Pakistan’s propaganda. “These statements, driven by Pakistan, which has turned terrorism into statecraft, reflect the continued misuse of the OIC platform for narrow political ends,” the MEA said.
Operation Sindoor and the Pahalgam Attack: India’s Justification
India’s strong reaction also came in the wake of the recent Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed several lives and was allegedly orchestrated by terrorist groups operating from Pakistani territory. In response, India launched “Operation Sindoor,” a targeted military operation aimed at neutralizing terror camps across the border.
The MEA defended the operation as a “precise and legitimate act of self-defence,” countering Pakistan’s accusation of “unprovoked and unjustified military aggression.” India further criticized Pakistan’s retaliatory attempts, stating they “recklessly endangered civilian lives and property” and resulted in multiple civilian casualties.
“It is absurd for Pakistan to speak of targeting only Indian military installations when its retaliatory attempts not only failed but caused deaths and injuries among its own civilian population,” the MEA noted.
India also highlighted the irony of Pakistan, a country with a “long history of sheltering, breeding, and empowering terrorists”, lecturing others on human rights and counter-terrorism. The statement underscored Pakistan’s “abysmal human rights record” and its continued persecution of minorities and sectarian groups.
OIC’s Credibility at Stake: India’s Call for Introspection
India’s response wasn’t just a rebuttal, it was a call for the OIC to reflect on its own credibility. The MEA urged the 57-member bloc to reconsider the consequences of allowing Pakistan to manipulate its platform for political gains. “Any other course can only undermine the OIC’s credibility and relevance,” the statement warned.
India also pointed out the OIC’s repeated failure to acknowledge the “real and documented threat of terrorism emanating from Pakistan,” calling it a “wilful disregard for facts.” The MEA emphasized that such selective silence not only weakens the global fight against terrorism but also emboldens state-sponsored actors.
The broader diplomatic message was clear: India will not tolerate external interference in its domestic matters, especially when such interference is rooted in misinformation and political agendas. By standing firm, India reaffirmed its commitment to sovereignty, national security, and factual discourse on the global stage.
