Iran-Israel Conflict: A Growing Crisis
The Iran-Israel conflict has entered its fifth day, with both nations trading missile strikes and air raids.
- Israel launched a massive airstrike on June 13, targeting Iran’s nuclear, missile, and military infrastructure.
- Iran retaliated with missile strikes on Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
- Over 224 people have been killed in Iran, while 24 civilians have died in Israel.
The United States and European nations have urged both sides to de-escalate, but the situation remains volatile.
US President Donald Trump left the G7 Summit in Canada early to rush back to Washington, warning that Tehran could face further attacks.
“Iranians must evacuate Tehran immediately,” Trump posted on Truth Social, underscoring the danger to its 10 million residents.
Meanwhile, Israel has evacuated over 3,000 citizens from border areas, fearing further Iranian retaliation.
India’s Evacuation Efforts and Next Steps
India has already begun evacuating students and citizens from Tehran.
According to government sources:
- The first batch of 110 Indian nationals crossed into Armenia on June 17.
- Over 10,000 Indian students are stranded in Iran, and India has urged Tehran to ensure their safe evacuation.
- Due to Iran’s airspace closure, students are being advised to exit via land borders to Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, or Afghanistan.
The Indian Embassy in Tehran remains in constant touch with the community, providing assistance and updates.
“Further advisories may be issued given the fluid situation,” the MEA stated.
With tensions escalating, India is closely monitoring the security situation and preparing for additional evacuation measures.
A Critical Moment for Indian Nationals in Tehran
The Iran-Israel conflict has created a dangerous environment for Indian nationals in Tehran, prompting the Indian government to issue urgent evacuation advisories.
As airstrikes continue, the Embassy of India is working round the clock to ensure the safety of its citizens.
With global powers urging de-escalation, the world watches to see whether diplomatic efforts can prevent further bloodshed.
