Russia, a long-time ally of Tehran, condemned the U.S. strikes as “unprovoked” and “unjustified.” President Vladimir Putin, during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Moscow, expressed solidarity with Iran but stopped short of pledging military support.

Both nations have called for an emergency session of the UN Security Council, warning that continued escalation could lead to a broader regional war with global economic and security implications.
