How Operation Sindoor Unfolded
The operation was a direct response to the terror assault in Pahalgam on April 22, which killed 26 civilians. India’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO), Lt. Gen. Rajiv Ghai, confirmed that the strikes targeted nine major terror hubs, including Jaish-e-Mohammad’s base in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s headquarters in Muridke.
Pakistan responded with drone incursions and missile attacks, attempting to strike Indian military installations. However, India’s S-400 air defense system successfully intercepted over 300 aerial threats, preventing further casualties.
The Soldiers Who Made the Ultimate Sacrifice
During the intense four-day battle, five Indian soldiers were killed in cross-border firing and retaliatory strikes. Their bravery ensured the success of Operation Sindoor, which dealt a devastating blow to Pakistan-backed terror networks.
Lt. Gen. Rajiv Ghai paid tribute to the fallen heroes, stating:
“Their sacrifice will never be forgotten. They fought with unwavering courage to protect our nation.”
Pakistan’s Heavy Losses
While India mourns its fallen soldiers, Pakistan has also suffered significant casualties. Reports confirm that 11 Pakistani military personnel were killed, with 78 injured in India’s strikes. Among the deceased were Pakistan Air Force Squadron Leader Usman Yousuf and Chief Technician Aurangzeb.
