Epstein survivors demand full file release and name disclosure
Survivors Speak Out: A Powerful Moment on Capitol Hill
Epstein Survivors Push Congress to Unseal Files and Name Abusers – On September 3, 2025, a group of survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse gathered on Capitol Hill to demand justice, truth, and transparency. For many, it was the first time they spoke publicly about their trauma. Their message was clear: the government must release all files related to Epstein’s crimes, including the names of powerful individuals who may have been involved.
The press conference was organized by Representatives Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Ro Khanna (D-CA), with support from Marjorie Taylor Greene, Nancy Mace, and other bipartisan lawmakers. Survivors like Marina Lacerda, Haley Robson, and Anouska De Georgiou shared heartbreaking stories of abuse and betrayal. They also revealed that they are compiling a confidential list of alleged abusers, frustrated by the Justice Department’s delay in releasing key documents.
Their demand: full transparency from agencies like the FBI, DOJ, and CIA, and a public reading of names on the House floor.
The Epstein Files Transparency Act Gains Momentum
To push for accountability, lawmakers introduced the Epstein Files Transparency Act, a bill that would require the Justice Department to release all unclassified materials related to Epstein’s crimes in a downloadable format. The bill has already gained over 200 signatures, including support from all 212 Democrats and at least four Republicans.
Rep. Massie filed a discharge petition on September 2, a rare move that allows lawmakers to bypass House leadership and force a vote. Only two more Republican signatures are needed to reach the required 218 and bring the bill to the floor.
Lawmakers say the files released so far are just a fraction of what exists and much of it is already public. Survivors and their advocates believe the real truth lies in the unreleased documents, which may expose elite figures who enabled or participated in Epstein’s abuse.
“This is not a partisan issue. This is a crime,” said survivor Liz Stein. “Justice and accountability are not favors from the powerful. They are obligations decades overdue.”
Trump’s “Hoax” Comment Sparks Backlash
President Donald Trump dismissed the survivors’ push as a “Democrat hoax,” a statement that drew widespread criticism. Survivors responded emotionally, saying their pain is real and not political. “We are real human beings. This is real trauma,” said Haley Robson, who invited Trump to meet her in person.
Other survivors pointed to Epstein’s close ties with Trump, including photos and personal accounts. Chauntae Davies recalled Epstein bragging about his friendship with Trump and displaying a framed photo of them together.
Lawmakers and survivors emphasized that this movement is not about politics—it’s about justice. “We stand with survivors. We stand against big money. We stand to protect America’s children,” said Rep. Khanna.
The backlash against Trump’s comment has only strengthened public support for the bill. A recent poll shows that nearly 70% of Americans, including many Republicans, believe the government is hiding something about Epstein.
Survivors Demand Full Disclosure and Accountability
The survivors’ message was unified and urgent: no more deals, no more protection, no more silence. They want every name, every detail, and every file released. They called out enablers, accomplices, and institutions that turned a blind eye.
“This moment began with Epstein’s crimes,” said survivor Jess Michaels, “but it will be remembered for survivors demanding truth and accountability.”
Attorney Bradley Edwards, who represents over 200 survivors, said the bill should “pass with flying colors.” Survivors also urged Congress to act swiftly, warning that delays only deepen their pain and allow powerful figures to escape justice. The House Oversight Committee has already released some files, but critics say they are heavily redacted and mostly contain previously known information. Survivors believe the real story is still hidden and they won’t stop until it’s revealed.
