PM Modi Launches INR 13000 Crore Projects in Gaya Ji – Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Gaya, Bihar to launch and lay the foundation stones for several major development projects worth over ₹13,000 crore. These projects aim to improve roads, electricity, sanitation, and housing across the state. The visit shows the government’s strong focus on building better infrastructure and improving the lives of people in Bihar.
Let’s take a closer look at what was announced and how it will benefit the region.
Table of Contents
Better Roads and Bridges for Faster Travel
One of the biggest announcements was the four-lane Bakhtiyarpur to Mokama section of National Highway 31. This road will make travel faster and safer for thousands of people. It will also help farmers and businesses transport goods more easily.
Another important project is the Aunta-Simaria six-lane bridge over the Ganga River. This bridge will reduce travel time between North and South Bihar by over 100 kilometres. Heavy vehicles will no longer need to take long detours, saving time and fuel.
These road and bridge projects will improve connectivity, boost trade, and make life easier for commuters and transporters.
Power and Clean Water for a Brighter Future
PM Modi also laid the foundation stone for the Buxar Thermal Power Plant, which will generate 660 megawatts of electricity. This plant will help meet the growing power needs of Bihar and nearby states. More electricity means better support for homes, schools, hospitals, and industries.
In addition, several Sewerage Treatment Plants and Sewerage Networks were launched under the Namami Gange mission. These projects will clean wastewater before it enters rivers, helping protect the environment and improve public health.
Clean water and reliable electricity are basic needs. These projects will help ensure that more people in Bihar have access to both.
New Homes and Trains for Better Living
During his visit, PM Modi handed over new homes to thousands of families under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). These homes are part of the government’s plan to provide affordable housing to all. Both rural and urban families will benefit from this initiative.
Two new trains were also flagged off:
- Amrit Bharat Express (Gaya-Delhi): A fast and comfortable train for long-distance travel.
- Buddhist Circuit Train (Vaishali–Koderma): A special train to promote tourism and connect important Buddhist sites.
These trains will improve travel options and support tourism, which is important for local businesses and cultural exchange.
A Step Toward Growth and Opportunity
The launch of ₹13,000 crore worth of projects is a big step toward the development of Bihar. These projects will:
- Create jobs during construction and operation
- Improve transport, power, and sanitation
- Support tourism and local businesses
- Provide better housing and public services
PM Modi’s visit to Gaya shows the government’s commitment to building a stronger and more modern Bihar. It also sends a message that development is not just for big cities, it must reach every corner of the country.
